The United States has presented a draft UN Security Council resolution to partner nations aimed at bolstering President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan, including by greenlighting an international security force, Washington's mission said. The US statement said the resolution "welcomes the Board of Peace," a transitional governing body for Gaza envisioned in Trump's 20-point plan, which he would chair. It also "authorizes the International Stabilization Force" (ISF) outlined in the peace plan.For a broader perspective on the prospects for peace between Israelis and Palestinians, François Picard welcomes prominent Palestinian peace activist Ali Abu Awwad. Mr. Awwad asserts that "If the international community was able to cease the fire in Gaza, then they are absolutely able to put pressure" on Israelis and Palestinians for a lasting peace.
