During a visit to Pokrovsk, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said his country's troops have forced Russia to push back its deadline for taking the strategic eastern city, which is the scene of fierce fighting in the Donbas region. Russia has been trying to take Pokrovsk since 2024 as an attempt to control the entire region, of which Ukrainians still control about 10%.
