Israel has passed a law banning the UN Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA from operating in the country, and occupied territories, citing involvement of some of their staffers in the Oct. 7th attack on southern Israel. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) employs tens of thousands of workers and provides education, health and aid to millions of Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. As war-torn Gaza faces an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, and the UN's World Food Programme calls for immediate action to stave off imminent famine, FRANCE 24's François Picard is joined by Shaina Low, Communication Adviser for the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
