US President Donald Trump threatened overnight to “obliterate” Iran’s power plants if Tehran does not fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, barely a day after suggesting he was “winding down” the war. Striking Iran’s energy sites, including the Bushehr nuclear power plant, could violate the Geneva Conventions, FRANCE 24’s Douglas Herbert said in an analysis.
