One of the most consequential takeaways from Monday's meetings at the White House was the plan for a meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin. German Chancellor Friederich Merz says that summit is tentatively planned to take place within two weeks, while French President Emmanuel Macron proposed Geneva as the possible venue - with Switzerland saying it's ready to give immunity to Vladimir Putin, who's under an international arrest warrant. It's likely to be at such a meeting that the thorniest issue of ending the Russia war in Ukraine will be tackled - that of territorial concessions. An issue that was not discussed in Washington.
