"We are looking for real peace, not just a ceasefire," explains Mustafa Barghouti, the Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative. Following a devastating two-year war that claimed the lives of over 70,000+ people and destroyed most of Gaza, Mr. Barghouti asserts the right of the Palestinian people to be free from occupation and to have a state of their own. The people of Gaza "didn't only lose their beloved and their children and their fathers and mothers and husbands and daughters. They lost their homes. They lost their facilities. They lost everything they had. I mean, when you speak about almost 92% of all homes destroyed. When you speak about total destruction and devastation of infrastructure. It's a big loss. And so there is hope and this hope is that we will get over all of that if this war stops."
