The EU on Monday approved a 16th package of sanctions against Russia on the third anniversary of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, European diplomats said. The announcement came as foreign leaders gather in Kyiv to mark the war's anniversary and French President Emmanuel Macron meets US President Donald Trump in Washington DC to make the case for involving Europe in peace talks.
